All I wanted to know, my MACBOOK's one year is expiring in 8 days, can I buy apple care ?
All I did, is waited for 1 hour over the phone with Apple Support and talked to 3 different people, listened to their useless music and no help was provided, finally being asked to get it from store.
I am really frustrated with the support I received today.
Yes, as long as it's purchased within one year from the date of sale on your receipt.
You don't have to buy it directly from Apple. There are other vendors who sell it at a discount and and fully legal. I have the information for one site in particular, but can't get to it at the moment.

It may be a little tight to make your order, receive the box with the registration information and register within 8 days. I don't know if Apple also ships a box or does something simpler
If you are outside of the US, then the choices will be different but some Internet searching should help.

Found it. One of our long time members says she always purchases Apple Care here. Reliable, and some of the lowest pricing.
As Richard noted, no matter who you buy it from, you may have trouble getting it in time to register. Apple themselves may be the only ones you could get it from and register it in time. The person you have on the phone could look up your order, verify the serial number and activate it in the same call.
