I have 2 sos contacts added but cannot add a 3rd and the contact is not grayed out.

Q: I cannot add an sos contact that is white???
I want to add my wife as an SOS contact, but she is greyed out. She has several phone numbers, properly formatted, but it won't let me select her. How come?
