iOS 10 displayed image resolution poor

I hope there is a solution to this...

After updating to iOS 10 on my iPad Air, the quality of images (photos, icons, avatars, vector graphics / text) on webpages is lower resolution. Images that were formerly tack sharp are now soft and some even fuzzy. Text that could be read even though tiny is unreadable.

It appears that graphics rendering has changed in iOS 10 and not for the better. I don't see any settings / options that would effect this.

Anyone else notice this / have any solution ?

At present I'm wishing that I could simply rollback to iOS 9.
