Q: MAC vs Window

Hello

I am a junior CIS major. Which OS should I use? Mac or Window.

I've been using window for years, but I heard that an IT student should know both Mac OS and Window.

My main concern is that some of the software can't run on Mac OS; Visual Basic, for example.

I really appreciate your time and advise

Bootcamp is your friend. You can install, both Mac OS X as well as Windows on your Mac.

How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support

Also you can use both OS at the same time with virtualization software such as Virtual Box,

    Parallels and VMware Fusion.

mac os is unix based like linux, it does not run windows programs unless one install windows in a virtual machine or in bootcamp which is dual boot, bootcamp require a reboot from mac os where it boot into windows

you can't use visual basic in osx or run programs made in visual basic (also visual basic is a horrible language at least use c++ or c#..) in osx

if a it student needs to know mac os and windows or linux or just one of them depend on what you plan on working with
