Q: Spilled water on my 13" Macbook Pro?

Last night at about 11 PM, I accidentally spilled about a third cup on the keyboard and trackpad of my MBP, but at most a half cup of filtered water (it's pure water, not juice or soda). To my knowledge, I know for a fact that none of the water leaked into any of the ports on the side, and none of it probably didn't leak into the small vents near the edge of the keyboard. In a panicked state, I quickly went to the kitchen to grab paper towels and soaked up as much of the water as possible and pressed into some of the keys in the process in a frenzied attempt to get rid of all the water. (Stupidly enough, I should have flipped the computer upside down, then shook it to allow water to drip out as much as possible, but I thought irrationally at the moment so please do not blast me about this; I've never spilled liquids on any computer I've owned before.) Anyway, immediately after, I powered it off by holding down the power button and shut it down as quickly as I could, but right before this, I heard a low whirring sound coming from the inside of the computer, possibly from the fan? I'm not sure. Then, I left it open as it was and placed it upside down on a towel on the carpet floor. The next morning, I found a large plastic bag, closed the laptop, and stuffed some silica gel packets inside. After making it airtight as possible, I sealed it shut and placed it upside down on top of the refrigerator, where some heat is generated (but my family's is relatively new and so it is not hot to the touch.)

To my understanding, the most recent model of the Pro's keyboard component is separate from all other components, so it should be fine, but can anyone tell me what I should proceed to do next? I'm thinking it should be okay to try powering the MBP Saturday night. Thoughts?

Considering there's a possibility it does happen to be broken, what should I do? I do have Apple Care, and it's been roughly 2.5 months since I last purchased the computer. I'm also pressed money-wise as a college student, and as far as my parents are concerned. What is the most inexpensive but sure-fire way I can get my laptop fixed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

**Again, apologies for the overly long message I've typed out, but I need to truthfully explain what happened in detail so it is mostly easy to answer without many small questions about my situation. Thanks!
