Not syncing Notes to what device? What iOS is that device running?

    Hello !

To use Notes on iCloud.com, go to iCloud.com/Notes and sign in using your apple id  (the one you use with iCloud).

If you’re using another iCloud app, you can switch to Notes by clicking the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window.

To see and use Notes and other iCloud features, set up i cloud  on your iOS device or Mac.

The first time you use Notes on iCloud.com, you may get a message that says an iCloud email address is needed. This indicates that you haven’t set up iCloud Notes on your iOS device or Mac. To do that, sign in to iCloud on your iOS device or Mac, and turn on the Notes feature. If your device has iOS 9 or later or OS X v10.11 or later, you’re now using upgraded iCloud notes. If you turn on iCloud Notes on a device with an earlier version of iOS or OS X, you’re asked to choose an iCloud email address for a free iCloud email account. The email account will be used to store your iCloud notes, and you won’t be using upgraded iCloud notes.

    Thanks !

Great Idea! But perhaps a bit complicated at my end.

    However, here goes!

I have 2 iphone 6s ( the first one kept crashing and had to buy another one. Apple, are you reading this?)

And since I dont save anything very important on the phone that keeps crashing I did the following based on someone else's experience which I read on the Apple support platform.

    So go to:

Settings - General - Reset - Erase All Content & Setting and erase all the data. This obviously resets everything and Voila, I got my Notes back! Once it came back on the 'crashing phone' I put it up on ICloud and all my other devices had it too.

But before one does this, please make sure that there is a back up of the device before the error committed. (which i guess, everyone does anyway).

    Hope this helps.

I am now looking for a way to save my Notes so that should I commit a similar mistake, I have a back up. I guess the only way to do that is to copy each one (I have so many!) and paste on either Documents or One Note. Unfortunately we cant do a 'select all' 'copy' of the Notes page.

If someone has a better method, please do let me know.

    Thanks,

About three weeks ago the Notes on my Macbook and iPhone mysteriously went out of sync. The Notes on the phone and on iCloud.com are in sync, but not the Macbook. I've rechecked all the settings and nothing helps.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Phone is iOS 10.0.2

    Macbook is Yosemite 10.10.5

You are running the upgraded Notes app on your device, but your OS X is not high enough to do that. You would need to update the Mac to El Capitan for them all to sync.

Thanks Gail. I've tried to find El Capitan but it looks like there's no way to download it any longer. It's just Sierra available. I was hoping to wait awhile before going there.

    Cheers.

I just realized it was you on another thread who noted that Yosemite can no longer be updated to El Capitan, and Sierra is the only option.

    Thank you so much.

El Capitan is no longer available, I upgraded to Sierra.

    Problem resolved.
