no restore on disk utility

When in DIsk Utility in EL Capitan you have to Go to Edit in Menu bar and select Restore

Note you can't clone the via Disk Utility the disk you booted from. You can boot to Recovery mode and then clone via Disk Utility

what do you mean ? disk utility is now where you restore a backup that is don with Time Machine or whatever other backup solution you use
