Q: Apple music is not available offline after update

I updated my iphone to ios10, however since then I cannot listen to any of my apple music songs offline. When I go onto itunes on my laptop it indicates that all of my songs are downloaded on icloud but when I go into apple music on my iphone the cloud icon appears by every single song. How doI re-download all my songs on my laptop if the cloud icon isn't showing as I don't want to sit there on my phone downloading each song individually...

I have tried signing in and out of icloud, deleting all of my downloads and re-downloading on my laptop but this hasn't worked. I contacted EE and went through the steps to fully unlock my phone about a week ago as well so not sure if that has anything to do with it?

Please help!

    Hi â€‹frank_white_90,

I understand you are not able to listen to your Apple Music offline.  If you have Apple Music and iCloud Music Library enabled, then you would need to download the individual songs, albums or playlists that you want to listen to offline, and/or change the setting to Automatically download any new songs you add to your library.

Use Apple Music in the Music app

    Library and Playlists

The Library tab makes it easy to navigate all of your music, wherever it comes from—from the iTunes Store, from a rare import CD, or from your Apple Music membership. Every time that you add a song, album, or playlist, we keep it at the top of Library in Recently Added. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner to change which view options (Playlists, Artists, Albums, Songs, Video, Genres, Complications, Composers, and Downloaded Music) you see.

    Listen offline

You can download songs, albums, or playlists to your device so that you can listen to them when you're not connected to the Internet**. Find the song, album, or playlist that you want to download, then tap Apple Music download icon. You'll see Downloaded icon when the download is complete. If you don't see Apple Music download iconadd the music to your Library, then download it to your device.

If you want to automatically download any music that you add to your library, go to Settings > Music, then scroll to the Downloads section and turn on Automatic Downloads.

If you want to see only music that's downloaded to your device, tap Library > Downloaded Music. A message that says "Showing only music on this [device]" appears at the top of the screen. Tap Library in the upper-left corner to see all of your music.

**You can download music on up to 10 devices. These songs are accessible only during your Apple Music membership.

Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your Library

How to download music to listen to offline

You can download songs, albums, or playlists to your device so that you can listen to them when you're not connected to the Internet.* You must download songs, albums, or playlists on each device that you want to use for offline listening.

In the Music app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or in iTunes on your Mac or PC, find the song, album, or playlist that you want to download. Then:

    • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Tap Download .
    • On your Mac or PC: Click Download .

If you don't see  or , you need to add the songsalbums, or playlists to your Library first.

    Enjoy your day!
