Q: Finder not working

I just installed OS 10.11.6

 

Then tried to open my Applications Folder.

The only folder visible is a folder called Chrome Apps

I cannot access any of my applications from the Application Folder

 

Just before installing OS 10.11.6 my Applications Folder worked - and I ran Disk Utilities (I have been having problems opening documents in Word 2016 and have been trying to find a solution for that one.) Now everything is much worse.

 

SO FRUSTRATING!!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    From your post, I understand that after installing OS X 10.11.6 you are not able to open your Applications folder and only see a folder called Chrome Apps. I know how important it is for your Mac to be running smoothly for you after an update. I recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in Safe Mode and/or in a new user account.
