I just bought a new ipad air 2 and it came with IOS 9.3.1 installed. Is this version safe to run due to the security issues lately or should it be upgraded to 9.3.5 instead of 10?

I just bought a new ipad air 2 and it came with IOS 9.3.1 installed. Is this version safe to run due to the security issues lately or should it be upgraded to 9.3.5 instead of 10?

I just purchased a new ipad air 2 with ios 9.3.1 installed. Is it safe to continue with this version or should it be upgraded?

And if it should be upgraded, which version should be used? It automatically shows IOS 10 in the software update screen but I'm uneasy with 10 on an older ipad as I previously ruined 2 ipad 2's with the ios 8 upgrade and even apple could not fix them. Thanks

Now that iOS 10 is available, you will not be able to get iOS 9.

The iPad Air 2 is the newest possible iPad, other than the Pro series. If it can't run iOS 10 ........??

If you wish to be protected against the recently patched zero day exploits (Trident attack and pegasus infection) then yes, you should update. iOS 9.3.1 is vulnerable to those exploits.

But you cannot update to 9.3.5 as iOS 10.0.1 is out now so that will be the only update available to you.
