Can't connect to internet - Network ok, possible malware 3rd party malfunction?

Hey there

I've lately run into an issue with my macbook pro.

Connection to internet via safari or other apps fails. Safari says server connection interrupted, possible server overload. I'v tried on multiple accounts, the network activity program shows packages being received and sent although very few. on Bootcamp my internet is fine. Could ansbody help me find the caue and remove it?

I think it could be that I accidently downloaded something While surfing before. Or it could be a 3rd party app i installed and then did not remove properly (Yeah yeah i know I shouldn't)

This just ruined my day.

I have everything backed up. But I'd prefer not to type "'sudo rm -rf /'" 😉

After some hours of google searching I came across that a possible reason for this error could be my proxy settings or that an add on has tampered with them. I went and checked them and indeed, they were set to manual proxy configurations (wrongly obviously) I switched them back to automatic proxy detection. You can find those settings in safar -> settings -> extras -> proxies change setting -> untick all the boxes and only tick automatic proxy detection

This should change the setting for most apps using internet, only in Firefox you'd need to adjust those settings aswell (basically the same has in safari)
