Is the Apple Two-Factor Authorization Location tracking software different from that used for Location Services?
I was using my iPhone 5 (iOS 10), 2010 MacBook Pro (OS X El Capitan), and 3rd Gen Apple TV when my Apple TV reset. It powered back on and I didn't give it any additional thought. Maybe a minute later I received a notification on my Macbook that 'a device' was trying to access my account in <Location ~40 miles north of my current location>. Racking my brain trying to figure out what I should do, I decided to reset my password and opted to have my iCloud account sign out of all devices. When I tried to sign back in on my phone I got the same notification that a device was trying to access my account in the same 40 mile away location. I allowed it this time so my account was back on my phone and I logged into iCloud.com on my Macbook and I received the same location on both the Mac and iPhone. Thinking perhaps it is just my ISP being located up towards that area I took a look at where Apple Maps and Find My iPhone think my devices are. And oddly they show my actual locations.. I've concluded that there seems to be a disconnect between the location services between the Two-Factor software and the Current Location software.. Also, all devices were connected to the WiFi. Anyone know if this is true or not? Just an odd bug?
