iPhone timer not working with iOS 10

I installed iOS 10 the other day and since then I am unable to use the timer/alarm/clock app on my phone. The app seems to open fine, but freezes once it loads. It will let you switch functions eventually, but it seems the only useable function is the stopwatch. After about 60 seconds the screen goes black, the "loading" wheel runs for about 10 seconds, and then the phone locks entirely and requests your passcode. Once you're back in the phone, you need to shut down the app or the phone will continue this cycle every 60 seconds.

Has anyone else run in to this?

Well...I too have had the same problem since iOS 10 was released. I set an alarm or alarms and after closing the clock app and reopening the clock/alarm, all alarms are deactivated. I deleted all alarms and tried using the sleep function...same thing happens. I try using the stopwatch and if I close the app or go to my home screen...the stopwatch has rest to zero. No matter what combination of attempts I make to resolve the problem none of them seem to work.

I have had this problem for over a year now. Apple, when the heck are you going to fix this?

You are not addressing Apple here, this is a user to user support forum, and Apple does not participate here. This thread has identified some troubleshooting that others have used to correct their issues, and to be honest, no one that I know has experienced an issue with timer and/or alarms, and I have multiple alarms set up to go off at different times of the day and repeat with several different settings over the course of the week.

You do not identify any troubleshooting steps that you have taken, so I'm guessing that you have not done any, so try what you have read here.

Welcome Knpriester,

Thanks for your post. I see that the clock app will not work correctly after updating to iOS 10. That is certainly unexpected. I know I rely on the clock app to wake me up in the morning. I will be more than happy to help.

To start I would suggest by forcing the Clock app to close and restarting the phone:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Take care!
