How fragile/durable is the ATV 4 Remote?
Apologies if something like this has already been asked, but I have a specific situation so was wondering if I could get some insight.
I have an AppleTV 3. Want to upgrade to the 4, mainly for Siri, Apple Music, app and bluetooth headphone support.. but I have one reservation and that is the fragility/durability of the remote. This is going to sound weird, but let me explain.
I'm in a wheelchair and as such have a service dog. He picks up everything that I drop (which is a lot). I have an Otterbox on my iPhone for this reason. I know the touch surface on the remote is made of glass. I'm nervous about him picking up the glass portion of the remote, for obvious reasons.
For reference, he's picked up things like glass cups before, eyeglasses, etc..
In a nutshell: can the remote survive both frequent drops and a dog picking it up with his mouth? That's something I'd totally advise you not to test, by the way. Hahaha..
If the to at least one of these questions is no, I'm curious to find if there's a workaround such as a case that I could place on the remote. It seems that the 3 has been recently discontinued by Apple so I'm guessing they'll stop support for it soon, and I have several movies that I've bought through iTunes so I'm locked into the ecosystem.
I know this is a weird question so thank you for any insight you are able to provide!
