Can't use Mac because of boxes appearing-"com.apple.iCloudHelper.xpc", "cloudd", "MessagesAgent", "accounted" with spinning ball

My MacBook Pro El Capitan has boxes on screen- "com.apple.iCloudHelper.xpc", "cloudd","MessagesAgent", "accountsd" with the spinning ball and I am unable to use my computer as these boxes want a "keychain" and I do not recognize any of this. Please help. Thank you.

MacBook Pro, First problem I have had.

Hello T.W. Macaroni,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It looks like you are having trouble logging into your computer's administrative user account. (A "keychain" is a password managment system). Have you recently made any changes to your computer (updated your operating system, downloaded any software, changed any passwords?) The files above indicate your computer is trying to launch applications like iCloud, Messages, etc.

The first thing I would suggest is to restart your computer. That sounds simple, but it can be a very easy solution. If that does not work, restart your computer again, but this time hold down the Shift key. This is what is called a safe mode. If your computer starts up in safe mode without these error messages, then restart it again in normal mode (without pressing any keys).

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up

If neither of these two basic troubleshooting steps work, then you may need to enter a new password for your login keychain. Follow the steps in the resource below:

If your Mac keeps asking for the login keychain password

After you or your Mac administrator resets the password of your OS X user account, your Mac might ask you to update your keychain password or enter the password of your login keychain. It might also tell you that the system was unable to unlock your login keychain. That's because your login keychain is still using your old password.

If you don't know your old password, the solution is to create a new login keychain.

If you know your old password, use that password to update your existing login keychain:

  1. Open the Keychain Access app, which is in the the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose “Change Password for Keychain 'login.'”
  3. Enter the old password of your user account in the Current Password field. This is the password you were using before the password was reset.
  4. Enter the new password of your user account in the New Password field. This is the password you're now using to log in to your Mac. Enter the same password in the Verify field.
  5. Click OK when done, then quit Keychain Access.

T.W. Macaroni, if you continue to have issues logging into your computer, please reply to this message and we'll investigate further with you.

Take care.
