Q: Macbook Pro 2012 freezing after moving it

Hello guys.

I have a Macbook Pro from 2012 and I formatted it the other day for the first time. Since then (I don't know if it is related or not), sometimes, when I move the laptop (I put it on a table for example), the OS freezes and the pc reboots. Usually the screen just freezes and I can't do anything (move mouse, use keyboard, etc). A couple of times the screen just went crazy, horizontal weird lines and then the pc rebooted.

Any ideas that might help solve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

What do you mean by formatted?

If you just upgraded to El-Capitan from Maverick you will see performance issues if you don't have enough Ram to run El-Capitan.

By formatted I mean: I reinstalled the OS.

I have 16gb of ram. It was already running El Capitan before this.

It turns out that it was because one of the memories was defective. Thanks for the replies!

True I didn't think about it.

Basically the problem happened only when I moved the laptop (for example, I put it on the table). One of the times I just pressed the area below the laptop (slightly not too much), and it froze. I could reproduce it every now and then. I removed the lid and I could see that in the area where I was pressing there was only the memory. I turned the computer on, and once the OS had started, I touched the memory (again slightly), and it happened (I tried only with the one in the above slot). I tried removing one of the memories and it was ok. I put the one I removed first and the first time the OS didn't started up. I got the 3 beeps every 5 second (in theory problems with the memory). So what I have done is remove the one that is "damaged" and for now everything is ok.
