iOS 10 Bedtime - sleep analysis not working

I've been using the new Bedtime feature in iOS 10. The first night it showed me a graph with sleep analysis. But every other night, the Bedtime alarm wakes me up properly but there's no sleep analysis data. The days are just blank.

I havent turned the feature off or done anything else to change the settings. It's just not showing me how long I slept.

This is a bummer - I was really looking forward to this feature. Anyone else having this problem, or am I missing something?

I had the same experience, but have discovered you can manually enter your sleep patterns using the Health app. Launch the Health app, choose Sleep, tap the Sleep Analysis chart (which -- if you're in the same position described -- will only have your first night sleep times populated). Tap the plus sign (upper right), and you can manually enter the start and stop times for when you're "In Bed," "Asleep," and "Awake." Tedious, I know, and it seems there's got to be another way -- in addition to pairing the App with other devices.

I have the same issue - the sleep data is only partially recorded and intermittently records nothing (more often recording nothing than recording). All settings are set to allow permissions. The phone has been fully restored a number of times and this has happened for months ever since I got the phone - it's iPhone 7 always updated to latest iOS. Could this be a hardware fault with the handset itself?

I just figured it out! It only records data if you turn it off correctly and there is only one way (that I know of) to do this. When you hear the alarm, press "stop". If you try to simply turn it off between snoozes like I was doing (and probably most others by the look of this topic) it will not record for that night. Let me know if you figure out a way to stop between snoozes.

I've been talking to apple support about this and they suggested turning off the 'scheduled' option in the 'do not disturb' area of settings while at the same time having the bedtime alert set to 'at the time' rather than x number of minutes before. I tried it last night and it worked so fingers crossed this may be the fix - I also pressed stop rather than snooze as someone here suggested so I'm not sure which change worked

Settings > do not disturb > scheduled

Bedtime > options > bedtime reminder > at bedtime

I was facing the same issue. The app recorded my sleep data for 2 days & then stopped, without me having changed any settings. I went in to my Settings > Privacy > Health (App) > Clock, turned off the (2) permissions for 'Allow Clock to WRITE data' & 'Allow Clock to READ data' and then turned these back on. The missing Sleep Data from the night before was now on my Bedtime & Health Apps. Hope this helps. :)

I Have also been wondering how bedtime works. How does it analyze sleep? With just motion? Does it have to be on my bed or can it be on my nightstand? How does this compare to an app like sleep cycle? I've been using that for many months now, and it still seems better than IOS bedtime. Does Bedtime wake me up according to my light sleep cycle, or only at the time I set?

bedtime is an inbuilt feature in an ios 10. you have to first set the wake up time and go to bed time. on basis of which it sets your sleep duration. it also alarm you at bedtime and at the wake up time. you can also reject the alarm at bedtime and it will not consider it in your sleep duration and graph will be according to that. it will now analyse the motion of your iphone. sleep cycle is not inbuilt but more reliable and accurate than bedtime.
