iOS10 update stuck

Hi all.

I rarely post on here, and most of the time I can find solutions on google or whatever. But this one has me a little stumped.

I decided to update my iPhone 6, and did so through iTunes rather than iCloud. I backed up just before doing it and the phone has been on the loading bar with the white apple logo for almost two hours now. It's got about a milimetre's worth of the bar left to go through, and has been like that for almost an hour. Is there a problem or is it just taking it's sweet time?

I have a back up so can always restore but I'd rather not have to.

Thanks for any help!

Hi ginja_ninja8,
It looks as if your new iOS 10 update maybe stuck right at the end of the progress. The updates can take a bit of time however, Look at your computer to see if you can sync your iPhone. If you can, then you will need to wait it out. Look over the following link for more details. Apple logo with progress bar after updating or restoring iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you noticeably do not see any progression after a few hours, it would be best to try a force restart on your device. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the device does not start up as expected, follow the steps in this link. If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
This should have your iPhone up and running in no time. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. Have a great day.
