Bricked after trying to update to WatchOS 3

I also encountered the same problem. Apple HK then sent my problematic watch to Apple Singapore for repair. However, Apple Singapore confirmed that the watch was not repairable. I eventually needed to pay HKD 1968 (About USD 252) to get a refurbished Apple Watch. It is really unfair! It is hard to believe that customer needs to pay to buy another watch if the update process fails.

Has anyone else also experienced the same problem?

It also happened to me and they said they will charge me around US$200+ to fix if it is a hardware problem. Like you said, the watch was working perfect until the updating process. Apple shouldn't charge their customers and I am refusing to pay. I'm awaiting for their reply.
