Q: Pleading for a notation program like Preview 7 (not 8)

I make hundreds of notes on just one PDF document. Which translates into thousands of notes over the course of a workweek.

Preview 7 was perfect. You turned on the Notes feature. You clicked anywhere on the page and it created an instant note ready for text to be input. And all the notes were visible in the margin. To top it all off, no bugs!

Preview 8 came along. This time you needed a shortcut key to create the note each time. The developers decided center windows were non-negotiable, which meant the unnecessary extra step of moving the note to the relevant place on the page each time. Irritating. Notes were no visible in a preview pane, and the only way to see them in the margin was through Print - Show Notes - Save as PDF. But then there were the bugs: Ghost text from previous notes in the document showed up in later notes. And when saving the notes in the margin, the last line of text would sometimes be cut off.

Fortunately, some enterprising sort made it possible to reinstall Preview 7. Hallelujah! Then...Yosemite came along and disabled it. I've been struggling through Preview 8 ever since.

Frustrated, I asked people for alternatives. And every single one has an atrocious notation feature - Adobe Reader, Skim, Wondershare PDF Element.

So I'm asking, no, begging, can someone please recommend a pdf program that's as good as Preview 7?!
