Unwanted Aliases which I can't delete

I am running El Capitan version 10.11.6

I have put a green tag labelled 'Regular' on some of the files which I access frequently, and have added this tag to the Finder sidebar.

For some reason (see picture) 35 Aliases have appeared relating to one particular .numbers document. These aliases cannot be renamed, moved, trashed, fixed, deleted or interacted with in any way. I have tried deleting the file they refer to (after saving a copy of course) but to no avail.

If I try to open one of the Aliases, which now point to nothing, I am given the opportunity to delete it (nothing happens) or fix it (whatever new file I select produces an error message). They cannot be picked up and dragged using the cursor. If I open 'Get Info' (see picture) the "Select New Original" button is greyed out and the sharing and permissions is given as unknown. If I right click (see picture) there is a limited selection of options some of which do nothing. I cannot rename, for example.

These Aliases appeared out of nowhere and are just sitting there mocking me and cluttering up my 'Regular' tag folder.

Can anyone suggest how to dispose of them?User uploaded file

I've found a solution! Hurrah!

Under Finder Preferences I selected the Regular tag and clicked on '–' to remove it. This removed the tag from all the various files I had previously added it to. Then I clicked on each of these files one by one and added the tag back again. Joy of joys all those Aliases have disappeared.

I'm just hoping they are not lurking somewhere ready to re-infect the display whilst my back is turned.
