Q: iMovie playback lag

I have a late 2008 MacBook Pro IntelCore 2Duo with 4GB of Ram and latest OS X El Capitan installed.

I've been editing some videos on iMovie 1.1.2 and it's been great! The problem now is that I've been editing a video but when I press play to preview, the image is lagging a lot. I put fast motion and some background music, it's just one part though, and that part is lagging. It's a 12 minute long video.

Hi, Isaias,

 

The lagging just means that the playback rendering is not keeping up with the complex demands of the editing process in that specific part of your video.  Many other posters on this board have noticed the same thing.  When you share it out it will play fine.
