Q: Can't access mac.com email
I am trying to access my "mac.com" email that I have not been on in a long time. Some people have told me to go on Icloud and log in with me.com at the end instead of mac.com which worked however, I get this notification every-time I try to sign in.
"This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons, you must unlock your account before signing in"
So I do that and it brings me to this page https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid
Which asks for me to reset my password, how exactly am I supposed to reset my password if I can't even access the email? Makes no sense, and at this point I'm ready to abandon the email if nobody can help me.

See this -- If your Apple ID is locked - Apple Support, if you still can't get through, look to the bottom of that article and reach out to Apple Support for further assistance with this matter.
