how to turn 3rd party notification off in WatchOS3?

Question

how to turn 3rd party notification off in WatchOS3?

I have a bunch of 3rd party apps on my phone that I have notifications for that I DO NOT WANT notifications on my watch.

I tried turning the "Mirror Iphone Alerts From:" tab off in the watch notifications settings for these apps but it does not seem to be turning off the notifications. I'm still getting notifications on my watch from Waze, BBC News, Automatic, etc...

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to turn notifications off short of disabling it on the iphone?

I have a Watch series 1 (new one) running WatchOS 3 and iphone 6s running IOS 10

Hey Max!

It seems like you already followed the correct process to disable notifications. I am using the same devices and the following worked for me :

Launch the Apple Watch app from the Home screen on your iPhone.

Tap on Notifications.
Tap the app you wish to adjust.
Tap Custom, if available to see all the settings.
Adjust to your liking.

Hi,

the same problem. I turned off all 3rd part notification but still getting notification on my Apple Watch. The problem had started after update my devices (iPhone 6S and Apple Watch) to iOS 10 and WatchOS 3.

Hi

The following steps may help:

Restart both your iPhone and your watch, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first;

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app. Choose to Restore from Backup during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).

I'm having the same problem.

I have all the 3rd party apps set to off so they don't mirror my iPhone

but their push notification alerts are still coming through on my Apple watch.

iPhone on ios 10 and Apple watch on OS3.
