Q: What can I do with Swift (3) that is not IOS development?

I am planning on learning Swift 3 no matter what the answer is after I finish my Python courses, I want to know what I am getting out of a programming language though so... what else can you even do with it?

Swift

    Hello t.nook,

iOS development is a pretty wide and marketable field. What else are you looking for?

Swift is a much more platform-centric language than Python. You have access to native interfaces to build a real user interface. Python is just a scripting language. Its only real significant claim to fame is how hip it is right now. It is like a slower Perl, with syntactic strict indentation, but no type decorators. I'm not necessarily a big fan of Swift, but I definitely think it is a good idea to take a break from Python. The biggest issue with Python is that you could get stuck in it like people used to get stuck in the Microsoft-specific languages and APIs.
