Q: Disabled 5s and power button doesnt work
i was given an iphone 5s that i would like to reset back to factory. however the phone is disabled. when i try to hit the power/home buttons together, nothing happens, like the power button doesnt work. when i connect to a computer itunes finds the phone but says i must respond on the phone to allow it to sync to itunes, but because the phone is disabled, i have no way to respond. help!!

Since it is asking for a response on the phone, you need to put the device into Recovery Mode. See the instructions in this support document. If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
