Q: Problem with iPad and iPhone ios10 connect with iTunes version 12.2.2

Yesterday, I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to ios10 successfully. However, when I try to connect to my Macbook running OSX version 10.7.5 with iTunes version 12.2.2.25 It gave me this error "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because an invalid response was received from the device." I got the same error when I connect my iPhone as well.

Now I cannot restore my iPad or iPhone to down grade the IOS because iTunes cannot see my devices.

Does anyone experience this after upgrade to ios10?

Hi Had3s,

I understand that after updating to iOS 10, your MacBook is no longer recognizing it in iTunes. I know it's important to be able to sync your iPhone with iTunes, so I'm happy to help.

Note that the likely cause here is an older version of iTunes. Since iOS 10 is still new, it's important to have the most recent version of iTunes installed. Currently, that's 12.5.1, which requires OS X 10.9.5 or later to be installed:
iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple

Since you currently have OS X 10.7.5 installed, you'll want to update OS X as well. You can see more about how to upgrade to the latest version of OS X here:

Hi, I am experiencing the same problem with a 2007 Macbook.. The latest iTunes i could get is 12.2.2. would there be another way that I can sync my iOS 10 device with my macbook?

You need your PC to be running latest itunes 12.5.1 check for updates on pc

Sadly the macbook can only run intunes 12.2.2 with OS X10.7, no further update could be run for both OS X and itunes.
