I want to completely remove a people folder that iOS 10 automatically created, but I'm only seeing the "hide" option.

This seems like it wastes storage space! I want to delete them. I set up my own folders the way I want them.
When I try to change the folder name in iOS 7 grays out all of the Apple set up folders.
I agree - Åpple crammed this down our throats. I don't want a "people" album. Åpple could at least give us the option to delete it.
Hide people
You can hide people or groups that you don't want to see in your People album.
- Open the People album and tap Select.
- Tap the people that you don't want to see.
- Tap Hide.
If you want to see the people you've hidden, tap Show Hidden People.
The question was: How do you delete the FOLDER, not a person in it! I too would like to delete the folders (people, places) that showed up after I did the software update to 10.0.2. Also, my video folder is gone!
Previoulsy - you could merge two people folders - that took care of this problem. I have 2 folders with no people in them. Photos will not allow me to merge these into another folder so I'm stuck with 2 empty folders that I cannot delete.
Hey - I think I figured this out. I changed the name of the empty folder (actually said there was one picture but you couldn't see it) that I want to get rid of to the same name of another folder. I got the message, do you want to merge folders and I answered yes. This seems to work and does not have a negative impact on the folder I merged it with! Don't know why Apple got rid of the merge option....
I also don't want it to exist in my photos app, so is places, selfies and screenshots. When they put such thing atleast have to give us option on how to arrange our own photos.
