Q: Allergic to silver computer

Has anyone else gotten red, irritated hands after using the silver MacBook? I suspect there is nickle alloy in the aluminum.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 10, Silver casing and trackpad

You are in the wrong forum, MacBook is not Mac Pro,
BTW, the keyboard is not made of alloy.

Some people are allergic to nickel. Are you allergic to some metals? If so then you will get irritated.

You could send your MBP to a metallurgical research laboratory and they should be able to determine the exact alloy and the component elements assuming that the case is an alloy and not pure aluminum.

My guess is that the case is made out of 6000 series aluminum.
