Urgent help

Hello .

I used to get beach ball very often . And one day it stuck at question mark folder. Apple service centre replaced my flex cable and now MacBook is working. But copy -pasting a folder takes time , deleting a folder takes time , when I click on close button (cross) , it does not respond sometimes. Apple service centre says my MacBook is normal after conducting their online diagnosis tests. I somehow feel my hard disk is failing .

Is it possible that my hard drive has bad sectors and apple is not able to detect it through their online tests ???? Is apples diagnosis fool proof ? Do they detect every thing ?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

So the whole point of sending the etrecheck report was to see if there were any indicators as to why you were having issues with the mac in the condition that you reported the problems above.

Now that you have reformatted it, and reinstalled the OS you will probably have removed the items that were causing the issues and therefore the report tells us nothing, now that the system is fresh.

Etrecheck can point out third party items and malware that may cause your mac to behave erratically. Such items are Anti-virus programs, which are not needed, and any apps that pretend to clean or enhance the performance of your mac, such as CleanMyMac, MacKeeper, etc.

And as you can see from drivex you get a clean bill of health on your drive.

Those are communications error. They have nothing to do with your drives themselves.

Drive CRC calculations and corrections (that require data re-read) are done internal to the drive, and are not reported as CRC Errors. They would increase the re-try counts.

EDIT: It is possible those are Transfer errors. If so, they would indicate a Bad SATA Cable.

I think it may not be of any great concern as the raw value count could be the drive reporting the earlier error prior to the cable being replaced, if the number increases then that might be a problem, so keep an eye on it.

As you have reformatted the drive you will now need to reinstall all the apps etc you used before and start using the mac. If you are then still getting the same performance issues you reported in your initial post then it probably means

there is a problem with software you are using. Then an etrecheck report would be of use.
