Yellow iPhone 7 Display

The display on my iPhone 7 has a yellow tint. Similar to the phones on display in the store and nothing like as "gorgeous" as the colours on my iPhone 6. There is a filter that you can apply to "fix" the problem, however it dulls the colours compared to my iPhone 6. It's pointless having a wider colour range if it's not able to produce a clean white!

Does anyone know if this issue improves over time (maybe with exposure to UV light)?

If this isn't solved by next weekend (7 days), I'm taking it back for a refund (ie. to downgrade to a better iPhone 6).

i just got an iPhone 7 plus 128gb. I upgraded from a iPhone 6 and facing the same issue. The display seems to be orange/yellow as compared to a bright screen of my iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 is much brighter than the iPhone 7 plus.. I don't think i will be able to adjust to this. After spending more than $900, this seems to be very annoying.. I loved my 6 plus and thought the 7plus display would be much better than the 6. But unfortunately not. If this is the case, i am definitely returning.

I have the same problem, any white is yellowish. The best part ? After spending a whole afternoon talking to three different advisors and a "senior" advisor. The solution he offered was "If you don't like it, return it".

Apple's customer service has always been awesome. It looks like they are growing too much and not caring for their customers anymore. I'll return the phone tomorrow. This is unacceptable for a $900 device.

Check this out guys look at the orange picture in the article this move is intentional it's part of the wide color gamut technology apple is using. The 6 and 6S can't see the logo in the orange box but view on an iPhone 7 and you can. Use both phones to compare the image. Also this is being used on the iPad Pro 9.7 inch model supposedly. Guess not a defect after all but will take some getting used to.

I have the same issue on my own and my wife's iPhone 7's, it was especially noticeable with my iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 side by side. I initially spoke to an apple advisor and then a senior advisor who basically told me that all the screens on the new iPhones are all the same and it's apples way of softening the harsh white on previous phones. I then visited a the Liverpool store and the guys in the Genius Bar (there for a separate issue) said the exact same thing and on comparing it to their iPhones and the phones on display in the store the yellow tint was visible on all of them. Having only just used the iPhone 7 for the last few days it does seem less noticeable and I do seem to have grown accustomed to it almost.

I called an advisor and he didn't seem to know much about it but after I did the research I was relieved. Apple is critical when it comes to quality and therefore the people buying their products get this mentality as well. But if it was really really yellow then I'd say we had a problem. Honestly I feel Apply needs to clarify this because it's not being addressed and I would think dozens of people who don't understand this are going to think it's a defect and start flooding unneeded returns. Thanks for your reply and doing that research it puts me at ease because I've decided to keep my iPhone 7 Plus and I've already gotten used to it so it really doesn't bother me.

My new iPhone 7 is quite muted in colour. Definitely not as vibrant or bright as my iPhone 6. The reds are no longer vibrant, but dark, towards a blueish burgundy. Notifications do not pop, but almost fade into the darkness of the black I have as my background. It's like watching TV with a bad tint, where all the colours are off. The reds, yellows and oranges are way more blue, and not at all attractive. When bright, I also get a slight yellow tint, but I'm more concerned by the colours on the screen.

I hope this is fixable, and that not all iPhones are like this. I am really hoping mine is a dud and can be fixed. Otherwise, I may have to wait until the next generation. I'm not a fan of looking at this screen at all.

As for brightness... My iPhone 6 is definitely brighter when both phones are at the maximum. No contest. What's going on?
