Q: iMac 27 (2010 ver. with 4 GB extra RAM) upstart problem

Hi

From one day to the other, my iMac (OS X 10.9) stopped working.

Case

No device is connected
Power on --> start sound plays
Screens shows this (see picture)
And nothing happens after this (sounds like it loads in the beginning but then stops after a few seconds)

What to do? Is it dead and over the hill? Could it be tha additioanl RAM? Help !!

I would suspect a bad video chip much more then incompatible memory, memory would be more likely to have it not give an image at all and do the memory issue beep or be unstable and crash if it was a periodic defect issue with the memory

Run Apple Hardware Test in extended and see if error occurs. I think it's a hardware problem.
Before take it to Apple Store Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service store, resetting SMC as well as NVRAM which could solve the problem.
