Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Apple Support Communities. I see that you're running into an issue with iTunes on your MacBook Pro. I have some troubleshooting steps for you to try that will help us determine the source of the issue. First, let's try opening the iTunes application after booting your computer into safe mode and see if that affects the behavior at all:
Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support
If this does not affect the issue, you may want to consider re-downloading iTunes from the Apple website and re-installing it:
