Q: Compatible logic boards for iMac G4 15" 800mhz

I have a non-working iMac G4 model 15", 800mhz, 256mb, 60HDD that I acquired just recently. Seller says the motherboard and power supply are bad but everything else is fine including the 15" lcd monitor. There are different imac g4 models and was wondering which are compatible with mine. Will a 17"/800mhz work? A 700mhz/15" will probably work? What about the 1ghz/17" model?

Will appreciate any help. thank you.

Unfortunately these are among the most notoriously difficult logic boards to replace.    Among other issues faced include the fact there is a factory specific tool that is hard to come by to adjust the adjustable chrome stand the LCD is connected to and it is very difficult to put back together without fraying the wires in that neck, or make it so the neck does not get too loose.    Not mention there is a balance of cooling gel, and existing pads that can if installed wrong can lead the machine to overheat.    The only model motherboard which may work, is the simultaneously released 700 Mhz model.  The CPU on that model is too slow to use the iDVD versions that shipped were compatible with the 800 Mhz model, so the DVD drive would probably be best served by a CD-RW drive instead or Combo drive unless all you intend is to burn DVD data, and not make your own movies.  http://www.lowendmac.com/ and http://www.ifixit.com/ have a lot of relevant information as well as http://www.everymac.com/
