Q: Bug in Apple mail app since IOS 9 keeping sent items in hidden local drafts folder?

HI, is anyone else having an issue with the Apple mail app keeping copies of sent mail in a local drafts folder even after sent?  I am having issues with exchange, yahoo and gmail. I also tested with and without the option of having drafts saved on the server.  I think it started in iOS 9 as looking at the drafts in the folder it started around sept 2015. The only way I know how to see this folder and the emails (since they aren't in the main draft folder) is to do a search in all mail and hit the suggested search for "unread messsges". At least for me this search showed thousands of "draft" messages that were already sent.  They must be taking up a lot of space on the phone and who wants a hidden copy of every email ever sent from the phone (and some of them had multiple copies as it must have been saving drafts along the way). The only way to purge all at once is to delete the mail app (possible on iOS 10) and then reinstall.  But once reinstalled the issue starts right back up with new emails.

Has anyone else seen this and been able to resolve?  it is happening on both mine and my wife'a phone so I don't think a corruptIon issue on my phone so i dont feel like "setting up as a new iphone" and starting from scratch as unlikely it is a corruption issue and more likely a bug. So would like to know if others are seeing this issue too?

iPhone 6s, iOS 10, null
