Q: Cannot disable app notification on apple watch 2
hi,
i recently purchased a new apple watch series 2 which comes with watch OS 3 preinstalled. I realize all my IM notifications (whatsapp, wechat) have been mirrored on my apple watch. I find it too annoying and i want to turn it off. I followed the instruction (go to apple watch app on the paired iphone, then notifications, find the app and then turn off "mirror iphone"), but it didn't work. The notifications still appear on my watch for these two apps. The only way i can get rid of the notification is to change the iphone alert style to "none" for these two apps. But this way i won't get the banner on iphone neither which is not acceptable.
So my question is:
- what is the "mirror iphone alerts" settings in the notification menu of apple watch app supposed to do? It seems to have no effect at all?
- is this mirror iphone notification setting an OS level control or is something has to be supported by the application in order to have effect? In other words, if it is a bug, is it a watch OS bug or application bug?
Thanks,
xinchao

Hi xinchao
Having turned off the option for "Mirror iPhone Alerts From" for each app, it may help to restart both your iPhone and your watch, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
