Q: Notification center and Calendar

Hi, I don't want to be interrupted by the notification center.  I therefore turned on the do not disturb from 00.00 to 23.59.  However, this disables the Calendar alerts, which I like to appear on in the middle of the screen with an accompanying sound (like it did in Snow Leopard).  Is it possible to turn off the notification center without disabling the calendar alerts?

Thanks, Mike.

I just discovered a partial solution to my problem.  In the Calendar preferences there is an option to turn off the Invitation alert.  This eliminates 95% of the irritation, so I think I'm good to go.

I discovered that solution while looking for the answer to another problem.  Back in iCal, when a date was present in an email you could click on it and get an option to show that date in iCal.  However, although it now it still detects the date in the email I only have the option to create an event.  Do you know if I can make it show me the date on iCal before I create an event?  Another backward step?  Or is it just me again?
