WatchOS 3 email notifications

Hello,

I have upgraded to WatchOS 3 and iOS 10 on my iPhone. Since then I no longer receive email notifications on the watch. I tried to recouple the watch with the phone, first using the latest watch backup and then again as a new watch. Neither has helped. Notifications from messages, for example, still come in on the watch. Is there some setting I'm missing?

Best regards,

Werner.

Hi Werner

How notifications behave depends on the status of your devices and your settings. With Wrist Detection enabled, in order to bring notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

  • If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.
  • If your iPhone is locked or asleep and your watch is unlocked (regardless of whether the watch screen is asleep or awake) and on your wrist, you will receive notifications on your watch.
  • If your watch is locked or has Do Not Disturb enabled, notifications will go to your iPhone.

HI Jonathan,

Thanks for your fast reply. When I'm in case two of your list I still get no email notifications, while before the upgrade this worked fine. In the Apple Watch app the notifications for email are set to "Custom", "Notifications" is switched on and in the email account page the notifications are also turned on, so that they can be felt but without sound.

Best regards,

Werner.
