You really don't need Flash. If you don't have Flash installed, most videos will play in HTML5. If something requires Flash, use Google Chrome that has a built in flash player to view.

If you are in Safari or Firefox you can

  • Copy over the URL to Chrome.
  • You can also use a Service to move a url from Safari to Chrome.
  • Firefox has an extension “Open with Google Chrome”

In Safari 10, included in macOS Sierra, Apple disables common plug-ins like Adobe Flash, Java, Silverlight, and QuickTime by default in an effort to focus on HTML5 content and improve the overall web browsing experience.

"The Mozilla Foundation, makers of the Firefox browser, said in a blog post that in August 2016 it will start filtering large categories of Flash usage that aren’t beneficial for users in order to reduce crashes and improve battery life on laptops. As the year goes on, Firefox will clamp down on more kinds of Flash content, and next year it will require that users approve playing any Flash content with a click. These moves are part of a trend by all browser makers to deprecate Flash, which is buggy and remains full of security holes."
