Previous messages not loading - iMessage
I noticed today that for just one contact, if I try to go back through my conversation history in iMessage, it won't load previous messages. However, and this is where it gets strange...randomly, it seems that if this person sends me a text, if I'm quick enough and swipe down to load previous messages, it will load them but stop again. That aside, I don't get the spinning icon showing that it is loading more messages.
Interesting things I've found:
- The sent message time of the last message on the page keeps changing!
- My iPad uses iMessage too - and the same contact is affected on my iPad - just that one contact...
- I can use spotlight search and actually retrieve message history/conversation with this contact but only to the point where I got it to load earlier messages (so example: I could see a message in search from over 3 years ago! but I couldn't view it, I could only view the conversation from search if I had previously loaded it - so really only from a month ago - that's as far as I had loaded messages back when it randomly allowed me to)
Things I've tried:
- Hard reset
- Power off and power on
- Turn off iMessage, and turn back on
- Checked to ensure I have enough space - I have 63GB available on my iPhone
I am thinking this is a glitch in iOS 10 but I'm hopeful that someone here might know about the issue and how to resolve. Maybe an indexing issue? I don't know. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
