iPhone 7 low call volume

The call volume on my iPhone 7 is very low. I have the volume all the way up. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hi, Judd and Leah!

Congratulations on your new iPhone 7! It's such a wonderful addition to the iPhone lineup. From your post, I am understanding that the volume on calls doesn't seem to be as loud as you expect it to be, though. I make a lot of calls with my iPhone throughout the day, so I know how important it is to be able to hear. I'd be happy to help!

First, make sure the plastic covering on the display to protect it during shipment has been removed. If you have your iPhone in a case, try removing it and making a call. If you still notice the volume isn't quite where it should be, use the steps in the article linked below for further assistance.

If you can‘t hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn‘t clear on your iPhone

I have my iPhone 7 since October, until a few weeks ago everything was perfect...but now the phone is almost useless...i barely hear the person calling. I tried rebooting the device, cleaning the ear speaker cover with tooth pick, volume is at max and still cant hear the other person.

Apple is becoming a device with more problems than ever...first battery drain, now low call volume...I wonder what is next and if Apple is going to fo something about this or we have to switch to Samsung ☹

Same Problem Here, been Trying to get Help from Apple Support but Non of the assistants have a clue of what's going on with this Topic... Same answers and same procedures that do not help and they choose to say goodbye "Kindly" rather than offer you a real solution... Hope they get the Real Fix soon instead of try to make you think it's a Hardware Problem.. 😠

OMG I switched out two phs - red plus limited edition with Verizon before reading this post LOL. I did not realize plastic was covering the ear piece on the phone, so embarrassing, I took off the plastic tonight and volume was flawless, clear lol. I need to call my carrier because they stated they were noticing a trend with customers calling in about same thing, and thought it was ph defect or software update issue. Suggestion- maybe apple needs to wrap plastic differently were its not covering the ear portion of the phone, because most people like my self keeps plastic on as screen protector at times until it no longer usable lol, I'm glad I didn't exchange to rose gold because everyone has that , I was going to do it a 3rd time tomorrow LOL, because it was still under warranty, I'm glad I found this post and did not exchange , I really love the red, it's the perfect red. Thanks for the post :):)
