Safari
Q: How do I remove the extra Safari copies from my dock? I had to make a copy each time Safari quit.
Safari wouldn't open, said it was now closed, so I had to make a copy in order to open it. Ended up doing this twice so I now have three (two not working) copies of Safari on my dock. How do I remove the extras?

Mac OS X
Drag the copies of Safari icons an inch or more off the Dock and wait a couple seconds.
Then release then release the icon. The icon will vanish in a poof of smoke.

or
Right click the icon in the Dock and choose Options > Remove from Dock.
