Q: Bluetooth says connected but no music through headphones

I Am having trouble with my iPhone 7 and my Bluetooth headphones. They connect to the iPhone but music plays through the phone speakers not the headphones. To get the music to play through the headphones I have to go into the Bluetooth settings and click on the headphone's name (which shows connected by the way) and then the music plays through the headphones just fine. This process needs to be done every time the headphones are powered on and connected. Anyone else have this trouble or know how to make the headphones work from the start?

iPhone 7, iOS 10, null

I figured out other bluetooth devices work fine (portable speaker) and it was only my headphones.  I reached out to the manufacturer and they told me to reset my headphones and then re-pair them.  It worked!  Now when they say they connected, the music will play in them without having to go back to the bluetooth screen and tap on the item.  Try a reset and see if that helps.

I have this problem too but the re-pairing method did not work for me. 10.0.2 did not fix this issue. Only the phone app so far recognizes the headphone by default.

I am having this problem. Forgetting device and then repairing is the only way I can get it to sometimes work, although it has not been a one time fix for me. I have to do this several times a day. I also am not having problems with portable BT speakers, but I am having the problem with two separate pairs of headphones (mpow magnetos), I had these headphones with my 6 plus and they worked fine, with the iPhone 7 plus the problem started.
