No Alarm Sound over Bluetooth Headphones

I started using Bluetooth earbuds in preparation for my upcoming iPhone 7. I updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 10.01. I ride the railroad to work listing to music and fall asleep on the way home quite often.

This was never a concern as I set a couple of alarms which would play through my wired headphones and wake me.

Using Bluetooth headphones, music plays quite well but alarms sound on the physical phone, not through the headphones. This defeats the purpose of the alarm for me as even with vibration, I can easily miss the alarm especially with sound isolating earbuds.

It would be great if there were a preference to sound alarm over phone or Bluetooth, but it makes common sense "to me" to sound an alarm over the device you are listening to the music through. I suppose I will go back to wired over lightening and hope I don't run out of power and need a battery boost at the end of the day.

Good way for Apple to sell their battery case which I have been considering but its is clunky and unattractive imho.

Missing a stop can be a real probklem for me and I thought that issue was resolved but progress brings pain at times.

Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

Thanks
