Q: Can I fix my touchscreen or does it need an IOS fix?

Since the last IOS update my touchscreen has gone wonky. There are several applications where the keyboard suddenly changes from one language to another, the back key doesn't erase letters but produces a random selection of them strung together and predictive text no longer works either. While typing random letters appear in the middle of words without me typing them. It is so bad that I had to change to my computer to write this.

There are also some games where the touch screen control is gone. For example in Hayday swiping motions do not 'connect' with the items and normal actions on the screen but produce random effects in other parts of the screen.

The screen 'jumps' as well, as if I was pinching something open and close when I am only using one finger.

In addition, when I open the device my usual start screen is gone. It tells me to press home when there is no such app on the screen. To gain access I have to open and close a random app to be able to see the others. Completely unusable.

Since it only started immediately after the IOS update with all the new Home stuff - that frankly I do not need or want - things have just gone from weird to weirder. Oh yes, half the time the games cannot connect to Game Center which means that I cannot safe my progress and hence cannot just unintall and reinstall.

A major glitch this IOS.

Anybody have any idea if this is affecting more people and if yes, when it will be fixed?

iPad Mini, iOS 10, null

Hi. It sounds like your touchscreen digitizer may be in trouble. You may need to take it to an Apple store for evaluation.

Regarding starting, "press home" means to push the Home button, not a nonexistent app. It replaces the old "slide to open".

I'm having similar issues since the update. when scrolling the screen jumps and jitters, making it impossible to read. also having the same issue when hitting the backspace button. I also noticed that when i try to move the cursor for editing that it will add words, change screens and just do whatever it wants! Phone worked great before the update, hoping they do a bug fix soon!

How does it get in trouble when this has only been happening since the update? And it seems to be happening to other users as well. So I don't want to incur costs at a repair shop when this might be a programming glitch.

I might just bring it in and talk to them. Its not old enough to have that kind of trouble.....

    thanks for the tip anyway
