Q: Need help-Nike Plus version vs Series 2

hello,

I am looking for some help making the best decision of regular series 2 vs Nike Plus version.

Its going to sound simple but I am an avid runner who uses the Nike plus app to store my runs for the last 8 years. I am not into the extensive data of some of the other apps. I am looking to be able to run without my phone while listening to my Bluetooth heAdphones and track my data. Is it worth it to wait till end of oct for Nike Plus or pull the trigger earlier for regular series 2 watch? is the Nike Plus watch going to be that different besides bands and faces?

I am torn and looking for any help!

This isn't probably going to help much but it is my understanding that the Nike+ watch is the same as the series 2 with a nike band and a nike watch face. The nike watch face is only available on the nike watch.  The nike run software can be downloaded on the other watches. I believe both series 1 and 2.

If it makes you feel any more at ease, the Series 2 don't seem to be in stock anywhere right now, and don't ship for 3-5 weeks. By then, the Nike+ version will be almost out too. I took a look at the bands in store, the Nike+'s perforations are definitely noticeable, but the normal sports band look comfortable too (I'd love to hear from some distance runners if the bands are worth the wait for long runs - the original certainly looks cleaner). Last, I found today that the Series 2 (like the original), don't have a barometer, so there's no elevation gain measurement without a phone (Nike+ version is the same). I'm hoping Strava (or Nike+) can figure it out from map data and GPS, but it's a little disappointing. I'll likely be a customer, but no longer feel like I need it right away.

    Hi

Apple Watch Nike+ features include the exclusive Nike Sport Band, Nike watch faces (along with the standard Apple Watch watch faces) and closer integration with the Nike+ Run Club app. The Nike watch faces include a permanent complication / shortcut for launching the app.

Otherwise, the models have the same internal hardware features and the same standard features of watchOS 3. The Nike+ Run Club app can also be installed on the other Apple Watch Series 2 models.

I'm afraid that no-one here can tell you which model you should buy; that is up to you.
