Q: Can't turn off iMessage in iOS 10 with iPad

i have wifi only and can't turn off iMessage on iPad. I can but unable to get back into messages without turning it back on again. My iPad is tethered to my phone via wifi to send SMS/MMS messages. This is a problem ONLY after iOS 10 update.

    Hi. Could you clarify your problem more clearly? You are able to turn iMessage off and on with no problem. But you cannot use iMessage when it is turned off?

    yes I can turn off iMessage.....but in order to get into message/texting after it gives me a splash screen to sign up and learn more about iMessage. No getting rid of splash screen unless I turn on imessage again or sign in(which turns it on)IMG_0740.PNG

    there are times I don't want iMessage therefore I want it off.
