Q: I cannot select the iCloud in calendars in my outlook

Every time I try to select the iCloud in Calendars in Outlook 2016 I get the following message:

The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store could not be opened.

What does this mean and how can I fix it?  It happened just after a windows update.  I have tried to restore to an earlier time but I cannot get an earlier restore time.  What do I do next?  Thanks for your assistance.

I think my problem dated from taking the Windows 10 AU update to v1607.

I had the same problem! I updated Windows and then suddenly no more calendar and contacts.

Here's the version of my software (updated):

    Windows 10 Pro: Version 1607, Build 14393.187

    Outlook 2016 (64 bits): Version 16.0.7301.1019

    iCloud PC:

    I had the version: 5.2.87

    The newest version: 6.0.1.41

    Here's what I did:

    1. In iCloud settings, uncheck everything

    2. Sign out

    3. Uninstall the application

    4. Download iCloud 6.0 for PC

Note: When the download of the installer is finished, right click on it and select properties and then details. Check if it's really the newest version... Some links from Apple still give you the old version 5.2.87.

    5. Right click and choose install as administrator

    6. Restart your computer

    7. Sign-in into iCloud (6.0.1.41)

    8. Check the parameters you want and, of course, the one for Outlook and then apply

    9. Open Outlook and it should be fine!

    Hopes it will help!

My problem lay in some privacy apps that I had running.  Disabled these, and recovered my access to iCloud calendars and contacts.  Incidentally, I also took the iCloud update to 6.0, but that was after finding the solution.
