Q: icloud restore iphone 7 plus

I'm having issues restoring my latest backup to my new iPhone 7 plus. It gets to the end then says unable to complete. Now I was on the beta program which I did make a backup before to my MacBook. A few days before the iPhone 7 release, they sent out the master version. I made an icloud backup on the master before exchanging to the new phone. Is there an issue restoring from the backup I used even though it was the final release version? Help

Try an iTunes backup with the old device then restore to iphone 7

I forgot to mention that I'm on the apple upgrade program so no longer have the iPhone 6 Plus.

I hope some one has the answer bc I have the old device but the iphone 7 will not take the 10.1 backup from the 6s plus. I basically lost all info from the initial backup prior to the beta install. Why is the 7 plus only getting 10.0.03 and not 10.1 like the 6s plus?
