Sep 18, 2016 11:41 PM in response to mawilmsby Ingo2711,★HelpfulSorry, but even if your phone had been submerged for a short time, the moisture it took will lead to corrosion, and sooner or later the phone will stop working. Water damage can't be fixed, you'll have to get the phone replaced.
You may try to visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and let them check your phone, but I'm afraid the outcome will be the same.
Since Water damage is not covered by Apple's warranty, they can offer you a replacement for a reduced price, called the Out-of-Warranty service fee.

You shouldn't turn it on until you're sure that all the water has evaporated.
Research online if you have a chance the phone will be OK - if not, check with the Apple store for a discounted replacement.
Check also if there is any risk of short-circuiting involved if you continue to use the phone.
